Overview
Since its founding, Ridgefield for a Better Chance (RABC) has sought to change the lives of young women of color through educational opportunities that prepare them to assume positions of leadership and responsibility.
The organization provides a supportive residential environment, academic resources, and mentorship for high-achieving scholars throughout their high school years.
The Challenge
RABC’s communications materials and online presence no longer reflected the strength and clarity of its mission. The organization needed a cohesive way to share its story, updated visual design to match its impact, and clear messaging to sustain annual fundraising efforts and strengthen community engagement.
Our Approach
Clarifying the Message
Field Notes Studio began by identifying the core messages that define RABC’s impact - from its legacy of education and leadership to the day-to-day experiences of its scholars. These insights informed a clear, consistent voice that could be applied across print, digital, and event communications.
Building a Visual System
We developed a refreshed visual direction that honored RABC’s history while modernizing its presentation. Through custom color palettes, typography, and design details, the updated materials captured the organization’s professionalism and heart.
Designing for Connection
The annual donor brochure was reimagined as a story-driven piece that highlighted student success and community impact. The gala identity and materials - including a custom logo, digital assets, and program book - created a cohesive visual thread across fundraising touchpoints.
Preparing for the Future
To support RABC’s long-term communications goals, Field Notes Studio created a structured content and image plan to guide the development of a new website. This foundation will help the team maintain clarity and consistency as the organization continues to grow.
The Outcome
The refreshed materials revitalized how RABC shares its mission and achievements with the community. The new design system and messaging improved supporter engagement and strengthened brand recognition across events and fundraising efforts.
